We have only two Jerseys: Awa and her gorgeous daughter Tess, However we found out that Tess is an early blomer. At 13 months of age Tess had wonderful healthy twin calves...by our Scottish Highland bull....Tess is well and continues to grow beautifully exceeding most other heifers...oops cows her age. .

Tess with her twin calves by Angus, our Highland bull
Awa was named after the character in Gunter Grass’s "The Flounder". Awa was the female Archetype: half goddess, half woman, half milk producer! She had three breasts and kept the men in line by nursing them throughout their lives - resulting in calm & docile males. Men, as the story goes, have never again known such contentedness. Awa, the cow, being such a fine milk producer, nurtures us daily and keeps us too, calm & content!
From her milk we’ve made Yogurt, Butter, Ice cream, Brie, Swiss/Havarti.
