In an attempt to encourage your love or reading, to provide continuity in the outside reading program, and to provide a basis for our first written assessment as well as a starting point for class discussion, I have chosen to include the following in our syllabus. You will be required to complete this reading assignment before returning to school in the fall. We will begin our class work based on the assumption that each one of you has carefully read:

The books will be available from your Honors 11 teacher or you may purchase your own copy if you like to mark and or collect books. There will be a sign out sheet with the books; please include your name and book number.

I suggest that you make some notes about significant ideas, passages and questions that come to mind so that you have a source for review when the time comes.
