Using the Research Record view, you can record and display abstracts, excerpts, and transcriptions of data from a wide variety of sources, such as wills, town records, diaries, vital records, and many others. You can record text in a straight narrative form (Example 1), or you can align your text in columns using <option-tab>, which functions like the <tab> in a word processor (Example 2). By clicking on the Project icon, you can view detailed information on the project. By clicking on the Source icon, you can view detailed information on the source.
Example 1 (standard narrative form uses simple text entry - good for abstracts and transcriptions)
Example 2 (columnar form uses <option-tab> to align
text in columns within the same text field - good for record extracts)
