The Above Club
House Rules for Performers

Please note: Below are the 'House Rules' posted on the rear of the PA cabinets at The Above Club.

  1. Use a tuner [if you think you don't need a tuner -- USE A TUNER].

  2. No posing [if you're not sure what posing is, see the the 'Encore' section of Guitar for the Practicing Musician, August, 1996 issue].

  3. Sing into the mic -- not below it, not 2 feet away from it, not on its side -- SING DIRECTLY INTO THE MIC.

  4. If the house soundman says: you're too fucking loud -- TURN DOWN.

  5. If you give the house soundman any snotty attitude from the stage:
HE WILL TURN OFF BOTH THE MAINS & THE MONITORS AND INVITE YOU TO DO-IT-YOURSELF.

  6. If you think these rules are unreasonable: play somewhere else.
