The Rhythm Party - Breakfast With Kafka

This four song entry from the Worcester-based act has an eponymous feel. The combo is a septet (if you count the lightshow!) and they play right-on with rhythms ascending and descending under all those lyrics. Yo, Rent the Regatta Bar, drop acid, swirl the dance floor, and scat a few verses. This tape is OK, maybe a little weak production-wise, but the "XYZ" jam is 'toonful. Catch 'em live at one of the Wormtown's hipper establishments like the W.A.G. (Worcester Artists Group) to hear this serious assortment of significant smilers do it to ya.

The Rhythm Party - Breakfast With Kafka/Live demos

I love the history of this demo. They send it out with a rejection letter from Columbia Records... Well it's a funny story. Trust me. Anyway, I don't know why they sent it back but we still like it. Thanks for the extra live stuff on Side Two. Smokin' band! They play a sort of mishmash of various south-of-the-western-hemisphere musics and boy do they groove.
