Here are some features of the CATT program:

New Stuff: Semi-transparent surfaces, such as curtains, can be specified using both absorption and transmission coefficients; CATT-Walker, a quick and easy walk-through convolver now including visualization of the space, enhanced conditional statements.

Prediction: CATT-Acoustic employs a unique and general prediction method, called Randomized Tail-corrected Cone-tracing (RTC-II) that combines the best features of the Image Source Model (ISM), Cone-tracing and Ray-tracing.

Efficient Multiple Source Handling: After echograms have been predicted for a number of sources, new results for an arbitrary combination of these sources can be created rapidly.

Advanced Geometry Description: Conditional statements, run-time variable input, automatic locking of corners to surfaces, definition of a corner as the intersection between a line and a surface, scaling, rotation, mirroring, copying, looping for circular shapes, user-selectable colors for surface properties.

Source Directivity: Full space 10-degree format, 15-degree polar format or via a DLL Directivity Interface (DDI) enabling array modeling and beam steering.
Any-degree format available through CLF files (www.clfgroup.org).

Room Acoustic Measures: EDT, T15, T30, SPL (also in dB(A)), G10, RASTI, STI, LF, LEF, Ts, and IACC (full auralization version only).

Graphics: Shaded 3D models, interactive source information, wall hit statistics, decays, dynamic ray traces, audience area parameter mapping, echograms, image source space, reflector coverage, energy projected to a plane in time intervals, a neat 3D color vector display of impulse arrivals vs. time for a particular receiver, and an OGL fly-through model allowing 3D inspection of the model space from nearly any position.

Try the OGL viewer here. First download a small (101K) zip with three files to place in a new folder called, for example, CATT_OGL. Then you can download any OGL  file into the same folder to view the CATT model:  CC_Shaded.ogl ,  HK_Shaded.ogl ,  CL_Shaded.ogl ,  LB_Shaded.ogl . 

Advanced General Auralization: Binaural post-procesing with HRTF's, headphone EQ, and loudspeaker cross-talk cancellation. Fast convolution with anechoic music.

Walk-through Auralization: Binaural post-procesing with timed, sequential binaural impulse responses morphed into a walk-through experience. Either the source or the listener can be moving in the space. A new tool called CATTWalker facilitates this feature.

Plus: a surface properties library, batch processing capability, a customized editor, an extensive printed manual, and a comprehensive context-sensitive help. The full auralization version is shipped with a CD of anechoic audio resources.

SOFTWARE VERSIONS— CATT-Acoustic comes in two units:
1) full prediction and full auralization,
2) full prediction and demo auralization.
For both units research/education discounts are offered. A fully working demo including limited auralization is available.
If the auralization unit is added after purchasing the prediction unit then the licencing clock starts again for one year.
An invalid license means that software updates from the CATT users page can not be installed.
